NEW DELHI: Amol Palekar''s, a film focussing on a woman''sright to sexual freedom, will compete among ten others in the Asian category ofthe 34th International Film Festival of India. The festival is beginning onOctober 9.The international jury that will judge the competitionwill be headed by Polish film maker Krystof Zanussi. It will have a Chinesemember, Ms Peng Xiaolian, young film maker, who heads the famed Shanghai Studioand Hungarian film maker Istvan Gaal.The names of two Indian membersof the jury were announced on Wednesday by Director of Film Festivals, Ms NeelamKapur. The proposed names are Kannada award-winning film-maker, GirishKasaravalli and noted film critic of , Gautaman Bhaskaran.Among the star attractions fromHollywood will be Norwegian actress Liv Ulman. Old celluloidbeauties of B R Chopra that proved trend setters in Indian cinema --,,,,, and -- will form part of the Chopraretrospective.Kapur announced that Deputy Prime Minister L K Advaniwill open the festival, being helped in lighting the traditional lamp byBollywood actress Kareena Kapur.
