Exclusive! Amol Parashar on dating Konkona Sen Sharma: It will take me some time to talk about my personal life
Headlining a digital show Gram Chikitsalay made actor Amol Parashar believe that it would open many doors for him and it did “make a difference in perception and appreciation”. "I had imagined the show will shift my perception in people’s eyes for bigger and better. Headlining a story comes with a lot of responsibility, and if you pull that off successfully, everyone starts seeing you a different way. That improves the range and scale of things that come your way.

Choosing right becomes a much more important skill. And it did change the perception," he tells us. Amol, who has been in the industry for many years, is yet to work with the industry bigwigs. “I've been working with a lot of talented young people, but there are many acclaimed filmmakers – almost all of them except Shoojit Sircar, with whom I have gotten a chance to work with. I have not been on their set yet. I would love to be. I have expressed my interest in subtle ways. I'm not very good at reaching out, because I feel they know my work, they'll probably call me one day for something. You name any top commercial filmmaker – Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee and Vikramaditya Motwane – I would love to be on their set,” he tells us.
Meanwhile on his personal front, he is linked with actress Konkona Sen Sharma, however, ask him if he wishes to comment on the relationship and he replies, “Today, I will choose not to answer. But don't hate me if I change my mind in a week (laughs).”
At the premiere of his show Gram Chikitsalay, he was papped with Konkona, which many assumed the couple making it official. “People made it official. It was not any kind of statement. My family was there, my friends were there, my closest people were there. I literally got pictures clicked with each and every one of them. But I guess this was the one which was most spreadable for the media. So, it got spread. There are no feelings about it,” he clarifies.
He further adds, “I'm not complaining. Maybe it will take me some time to talk about my personal life. Some people in the industry said, ‘Amol you are reaching a certain kind of point in your career or a certain kind of point in your fame, where people are going to be interested in your personal life. You can't fight it’. I took that advice. I went back and I trained myself to at least not feel bad about it, whether it's Koko (Konkona Sen Sharma) or any other person in the past. It's happened a couple of times... Maybe the fear is that (the relationship will become part of my entire personality).”
