Ammy Virk's team reacts to replacing Diljit Dosanjh in 'Border 2': 'His casting was confirmed nearly nine months ago'

Reports and rumours have been circulating on the internet about Diljit Dosanjh being replaced in 'Border 2'. Recent reports mentioned Ammy Virk as a possible replacement for Diljit’s role in the movie. However, Ammy’s team has responded to the ongoing reports and dismissed them.

'Border 2' made headlines following backlash over Pakistani actress Hania Aamir being cast in the movie. A representative from Ammy Virk’s team reacted to the claims in a conversation with Hindustan Times, saying, “These are just speculations. We haven’t received any calls from anyone as of now."



The team also confirmed that there are no plans to replace or remove Diljit from 'Border 2'. “His casting was confirmed nearly nine months ago, long before the recent unfortunate incidents. Nearly half the film has already been shot, and any replacement at this stage would be logistically unfeasible,” it added.

Earlier, a source close to the production told TOI that Ammy was among the names discussed internally to step in for Diljit. “Diljit has only filmed 3–4 scenes so far. The makers are considering replacing him, as it’s still early enough to reshoot those portions without much hassle. The team is handling the situation directly, and Ammy Virk’s name has come up during internal discussions."

The issue escalated after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) addressed a letter to lead actor Sunny Deol, urging him to reconsider Diljit’s involvement in the patriotic film. As of now, the production team of 'Border 2' has not made any official statement regarding any cast changes.
