Amitabh Bachchan would travel from USA every weekend to be with his ailing mother
Amitabh Bachchan is undoubtedly one of the biggest superstars of Indian Cinema, having given more than 5 decades of his life to the movies. Over the years he has delivered megahits like Zanjeer, Laawaris, , Sholay, Naseeb, Deewar, Don and in recent years films like Piku, Pink, Kalki 2898 AD, Badla, Paa and many more.
As he turns a year older today many of his peers have been sharing their experiences of working and knowing him over the years. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra who directed Amitabh Bachchan in films like Aks and Delhi 6 and also directed Big B’s first music video Eer Bir Phatte in his conversation with Dainik Bhaskar shared that despite being at glittering heights of his fame- Big B never forgot his duties as a son.
He shared that even while Mr Bachchan would be in the United States of America for shows, he would fly down every weekend to be next to his ailing mother Teji Bachchan for the next three days and fly back for his shows. Mehra also revealed that Big B followed the same routine for three months despite being neck deep in work.
Amitabh Bachchan’s next release is Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur where he would be giving voiceover for the film. He is also currently working on the latest edition of Kaun Banega Crorepati which brought him back into limelight back in early 2000s. He also has Section 84 in the pipeline with Nimrat Kaur and Diana Penty, directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. Ribhu directed Mr Bachchan in his first fiction TV show Yudh and also in TE3N.
