About 'Zanjeer'
Released in 1973, ‘Zanjeer’ is a film directed by Prakash Mehra, and the screenplay is penned by the prominent duo, Salim-Javed (Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar). Along with Amitabh Bachchan, the film stars Jaya Bachchan (née Bhaduri), Pran, Ajit Khan, Iftekhar, Om Prakash, and Bindu. Introducing Bachchan’s version of ‘angry young man,’ the film revolves around a police man who has been suspended from his duties, and has decided to find the people who murdered his parents.
