Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan have completed their 50 years of marriage. The couple tied the knot on June 3, 1973 in an intimate ceremony. To mark the occasion, their daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda spilled their individual secret to a long marriage.
Sharing a vintage picture of her parents, Shweta wrote, "Happy 50th parents ~ now you're "Golden" once on being asked what the secret to a long marriage is, my mother answered - love, and I think my fathers was - the wife is always right. That's the long & short of it !!"
In the monochrome picture, Amitabh and Jaya can be seen gazing into each other's eyes while leaning to a wall. Big B was seen wearing a full sleeve printed shirt paired with flared pants while Jaya was seen dolled up in a saree.
Not just off-screen but Amitabh and Jaya have also made the audience fall in love with their loving chemistry on the screen as well. They have worked together in more than a dozen films. They fell in love with each other while they were shooting for Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1971 film Guddi, followed by their 1972 film Ek Nazar, which strengthened their relationship.
Amitabh and Jaya are proud parents to their kids Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan. Abhishek is married to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and they have a daughter Aaradhya together. Shweta has been married to Nikhil Nanda and they have two children Agastya and Navya Naveli together.
