Amid OTT release buzz, 'Dhurandhar-The Revenge' make-up artist Preetisheel Singh DECODES Danish Iqbal's Dawood Ibrahim look
Directed by Aditya Dhar and featuring Ranveer Singh, Rakesh Bedi, and Arjun Rampal in key roles, the spy thriller continues to pull audiences to theatres despite new releases arriving every week. The film has now also made its long-awaited OTT debut, further fueling the buzz surrounding its blockbuster run.
The digital release has already sparked excitement online, especially after makeup artist Preetisheel Singh shared a post decoding the much-discussed look of gangster Dawood Ibrahim, portrayed by Danish Iqbal in the film.
The look received massive traction from audiences and was widely appreciated for its detailing and authenticity. Danish, who comes from a theatre background, impressed viewers with his nuanced performance and command over the character.
Preetisheel took to her Instagram handle and shared a detailed post explaining the creative process behind designing the two contrasting looks of the same character. Through the post, she gave audiences a glimpse into the extensive effort, research and prosthetic work that went into achieving the transformation.
She wrote, “Bade Sahab!
For Dawood Ibrahim in Dhurandhar, played by Danish Iqbal, we had to build two sharply contrasting versions of the same man. In his prime, he is a stylish, commanding, and powerful presence. In contrast, we see a fragile, worn-down version of this once formidable figure, who was slowly poisoned.
To achieve this, we leaned into a hyper-real transformation—extensive silicone prosthetic work, a sparse wig, layered skin darkening and texturing, wrinkles, eye bags, the removal of eyebrows, and detailed texturing and colouring work across the scalp and body.
Danish Iqbal brings both these versions together with remarkable control, making the transition feel seamless and lived-in.
With this, the film’s total India gross collection has climbed to ₹1,369.84 crore, while its India net collection now stands at ₹1,144.56 crore.
