Amid Hania Aamir's Sardaar Ji 3 controversy, Diljit Dosanjh hints at still being a part of No Entry 2 in his vlog from Border 2 set - WATCH video
Diljit Dosanjh, currently shooting for Border 2, sparked buzz after sharing a BTS video featuring No Entry 2 director Anees Bazmee—despite being banned by FWICE for casting Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. While his team clarified the film was shot before the attack on India, the controversy continues.
Diljit's latest behind-the-scenes video from the Border 2 sets has fans buzzing. Kicking off with his signature narration style, the video offers a candid peek into his day on set and features glimpses of co-stars Ahan Shetty and Varun Dhawan, along with director Anurag Singh. One of the highlights was Mona Singh fangirling over Diljit, joking in Punjabi that she asked the director if she had a scene with him because “the whole world is going mad after you.”
Following his BTS video from the Border 2 sets, the singer-actor shared another clip featuring director Anees Bazmee and producer Boney Kapoor. While Diljit had previously been announced as part of No Entry 2, reports claimed he had exited the project after FWICE imposed a ban on him for working with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. However, in the new video, Diljit is seen listening to a narration from Anees Bazmee, whom he refers to as “his favourite director.” It remains unclear whether the clip was filmed before or after the Sardaar Ji 3 controversy erupted in June.
After the trailer release of Sardaar Ji 3, which featured Hania Aamir, several Indian cine bodies raised objections over Diljit's decision to collaborate with her. The backlash stemmed from the standing ban on Pakistani talent in Indian projects, imposed after the terror attack. This same directive had earlier affected films like Abir Gulaal, starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor. In response, Diljit’s team clarified that Sardaar Ji 3 was shot in February—prior to the attack—when such collaborations were still permitted. While the film will not release in India, the team has gone ahead with its international rollout.
Recently, FWICE clarified to India Today that they granted special permission to Bhushan Kumar of T-Series to complete the shoot of Border 2 with Diljit Dosanjh, as a significant portion had already been filmed. Bhushan reportedly assured the body that he would not collaborate with Diljit on future projects.
Ashoke Pandit, president of the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association, also stated that the temporary relief applies only to Border 2. “Our non-cooperation with Diljit remains in effect,” he said, warning that any producer choosing to work with the actor in upcoming films should be prepared to face "huge losses." He added that the decision was made in the best interest of the industry, and highlighted that Border 2 features no actors from across the border and is centered around India’s security forces—factors taken into consideration before the exemption was granted.
