In the viral video, Udit Narayan is seen kissing Alka Yagnik on the cheek without her consent while she was singing on stage, leaving her visibly shocked as she quickly moved away. Another photo shows him kissing Shreya Ghoshal on the cheek.

As these old clips resurfaced, netizens criticised the singer even more. Despite the backlash, it's worth noting that Udit has worked with both Alka and Shreya for years, and they share a good professional bond.

One fan kissed him on the cheek, and Udit responded by kissing her on the lips. Later, he reportedly kissed another 21-year-old female fan the same way. Though the timing of the incident is unclear, the clip caused an uproar online, with netizens criticizing the singer for his behaviour.

Amid the backlash, Udit Narayan addressed the controversy in an interview with HT City. He insisted he's a decent person and wouldn’t forcefully kiss anyone. The singer, with 46 years in the industry, explained that the excitement during stage performances often leads to fans shaking hands or hugging him. He emphasized that people shouldn’t focus on such moments, as he usually bows and greets his fans respectfully.
