Actress Ameesha Patel has been summoned by the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPPA) in a case regarding bounced cheques and non-payment of financial dues. The association has sent a letter to the actress after they received a complaint from a member of the IMPPA, who alleged a criminal breach of trust, cheating and fraud against the 'Kaho Na... Pyar Hai' actress.

Haresh Patel of AD Films, in his letter to IMPPA, claimed that they loaned Ameesha's production house for the film Desi Magic. They gave an amount of Rs 65 lakh at an interest rate of 2.5 per cent in 2017 and till date, they have not received the payment.

The producer also claimed that several cheques issued by Ameesha Patel have been dishonoured in the last five years. When contacted, Senior Vice President of IMPPA, Ashoke Pandit confirmed that a complaint has been filed by the member of the association with proof of dishonoured cheques. Pandit further stated, "We have already sent a letter to Ameesha Patel so that she may present herself in front of the joint dispute committee."
