Alia didn't know who was Kishore Kumar- Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor is one of the biggest superstars of Hindi Cinema after delivering hits like Animal, Wake Up Sid! Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani and many more. The man was in Goa to attend IFFI film festival on the occasion of the 100th Year of Raj Kapoor. During his conversation with acclaimed director Rahul Rawail Ranbir announced that the Kapoor family will be hosting a Raj Kapoor film festival from 13th to 15th December across the the country. And for the festival his uncle Kunal Kapoor along with NFDC, NFAI and Film Heritage of India have teamed up to restore Raj Kapoor's films and till now they have restored at least 10 of them.


Talking about the project, Ranbir said " There are so many people who have not seen his work like the first time I met Alia she asked me 'Who is Kishore Kumar?' , so its just that circle of life, artists are forgotten and newer artists come . It is very important we remember our roots. "

Ranbir also opened up about if there was one film of his , he would have liked his grandfather to direct and he said , " Because he made Bobby and he was always amazing with love stories I would really like to see him direct Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani and celebrate the music and the characetrs."

Ranbir also shared that he wouldn't attempt to direct any of his grandfather's film as a director as they would trun out to be atrocious just like his short films from his acting school which he has buried and no one would be able to see them.
