Alia Bhatt to begin shooting for Spy Universe film later this year; YRF head reveals details

Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh are teaming up for YRF's upcoming spy universe film, with some thrilling details about the project recently revealed.

When questioned about a new project from the YRF Spy Universe, YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani disclosed that Alia Bhatt is set to lead a Spy Universe film, with filming slated to commence later this year. He expressed the studio's enthusiasm for the spy universe IP and their excitement about its future.



He further emphasized the significance of the YRF Spy Universe, labeling it as both a financial and cultural powerhouse. With immense pride in the IP, he hinted at numerous upcoming projects within the spy universe. While not revealing all details at the moment, he assured that more information would be shared at a more appropriate time. However, he reiterated that Alia Bhatt's involvement in a spy universe film is confirmed.




Previous reports indicated that Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh will collaborate in an upcoming action-packed film. They are expected to portray super-agents in the movie, which is yet to be titled. Aditya Chopra is said to have enlisted Shiv to helm the project.



The YRF Spy Universe began with Salman Khan's 'Ek Tha Tiger' (2012), followed by its sequel 'Tiger Zinda Hai' (2017), and 'War' (2019) featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. This expanded with 'Pathaan,' starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, and 'Tiger 3' with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Now, 'War 2' is in the pipeline, starring Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr., and Kiara Advani, directed by Ayan Mukerji.
