Alia Bhatt steals the spotlight, surpasses Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian as the 'Most Visible Attendee' at Met Gala

Alia Bhatt emerged as the most visible celebrity at the Met Gala. Her second-ever appearance at the event in New York on Monday evening garnered attention, setting social media on fire with her stunning saree and captivating fans with her pictures and videos.

According to a report on the influencer marketing platform Lefty, Alia Bhatt and Sabyasachi surpassed the biggest celebrities, influencers, and brands in terms of visibility. Alia Bhatt beat Kendall Jenner (2), Kylie Jenner (3), Kim Kardashian (5), and even Doja Cat in her towel (15). Meanwhile, Sabyasachi surpassed Burberry and even Oscar de la Renta.

During her second outing at the prestigious fashion gala held annually at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, Alia's elegant saree, which extended into a 30-foot trail, captured the spotlight.

The couture saree worn by Bhatt, crafted by 163 artisans, paid homage to the official dress code for the 2024 Met Gala. Extensively handcrafted, the saree featured intricate embroidery using silk floss, beads, sequins, semi-precious stones, and fringed with glass beads. Additionally, the hand-crafted blouse was adorned with emeralds, Basra pearls, tourmalines, and multi-colored sapphires. To complement her ensemble, Bhatt adorned herself with high jewellery’s Bengal royal collection, adorned with tourmalines, sapphires, emeralds, and diamonds.

In her Instagram post, Bhatt mentioned that the outfit took on a life of its own as the team crafted an Indian interpretation of the Gala's universal theme.

The actor wrote, acknowledging her collaborators for the dress, "Creating this has been quite an experience… fun and stressful in equal parts. It has taken a collective effort of 163 dedicated individuals, including master craftspeople, embroiderers, artists, and dyers, investing a total of 1965-man hours to create this ethereal saree. As I wear this outfit, I feel incredibly grateful to embody this exquisite creation, a testament to boundless love and painstaking effort".
