Alia Bhatt shuts down chatter around her and Ranbir Kapoor's marriage; Says 'seven years' matter more than seven-second troll reels
Alia Bhatt has dismissed online speculation about her marriage to Ranbir Kapoor, calling the chatter about their relationship “not real” and irrelevant to their everyday life. Speaking candidly in a recent interview, the actor said that short clips and viral memes do not define a partnership that has lasted seven years and is grounded in family, routine, and emotional safety.
The couple married in April 2022 at their Mumbai home after dating for several years. Since then, their public appearances and comments have often been dissected online. Alia said none of it affects what truly matters to them.
She added that while she and Ranbir sometimes smile at memes about them, most of it does not even register. “Even the B of bother doesn’t enter our life,” she said. “If you’re in a room of fifty people, maybe only four actually care about you. The rest might be thinking terrible things, but you can’t hear them.”
Alia stressed that online trolling has no impact on her real life. “Is my reality changing? No. Is my family dynamic changing? Not at all. Am I living my dream? Yes. Do I go to sleep every day with a grateful heart? One hundred percent.”
She recalled that Ranbir took a month off work even before their daughter Raha was born, staying home because she needed his support. “He would go for a shoot and literally run home,” she said. “He’d run straight into the room to see her. His love is very obvious. He can’t help himself.”
Earlier, the actress on Kajol and Twinkle Khanna's talk show shared that motherhood has shifted her daily rhythm. “When you have a baby, your body clock changes,” she mentioned, before adding that she and Ranbir sleep and wake up early, a routine that suits their family life.
On the work front, the couple will next appear together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film ‘Love and War,’ which also stars Vicky Kaushal.

Alia Bhatt on her and Ranbir Kapoor's relationship and online noise
In an interview with Esquire India, Alia explained why she does not take online opinions seriously. “The noise doesn’t reach us. Because it’s not real,” she said. “They’re responding to three-and-a-half seconds or seven seconds of what they’re seeing. We’ve been together for seven years. That’s way more seconds than what people are commenting on.”She added that while she and Ranbir sometimes smile at memes about them, most of it does not even register. “Even the B of bother doesn’t enter our life,” she said. “If you’re in a room of fifty people, maybe only four actually care about you. The rest might be thinking terrible things, but you can’t hear them.”

Ranbir Kapoor's fatherhood and family life
Alia noted that becoming a father has brought out a softer side in Ranbir. “He’s far more sensitive than he lets on. He’s shy, so he holds a lot back,” she said. “But with her, he’s incredibly expressive. His eyes, his face, everything lights up. He almost becomes a child himself.”Earlier, the actress on Kajol and Twinkle Khanna's talk show shared that motherhood has shifted her daily rhythm. “When you have a baby, your body clock changes,” she mentioned, before adding that she and Ranbir sleep and wake up early, a routine that suits their family life.
