Growing up most of us have been been given hilarious, endearing and quirky nick names as a gesture of love and affection. Similarly, our favourite B'Town celebs have also been given amusing and cute nicknames, growing up, and the fun fact is most of these names have become public. Let's take a look at these celebs on how they got their nicknames.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas

While Priyanka is lovingly called 'PeeCee' and 'Piggy Chops' by her fans worldwide, her father called her ‘Mithu’. Since she found it tough pronouncing her nickname as a child, she changed it to ‘Mimi’ instead. Since them, she's called Mimi by her family members. She even has the name engraved at her restaurant in New York.

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam's daddy dearest Anil Kapoor reportedly called her ‘Giraffe’ due to her long neck. Earlier during an interview the actress shared, "My father used to call me giraffe because I had a really long neck. Now, my family and friends call me Senior as in Senior Kapoor."

Arjun Kapoor

While Arjun Kapoor is pretty active giving fresh new nicknames to his co-stars and friends from the industry, the actor himself as a quirky nickname. Arjun revealed that his friends and family lovingly called him ‘Fubu’. During a talk show Arjun shared that his friends still call him by that name. Arjun also shared, "Priyanka Chopra calls me Fubu on set and I keep reminding her that you cannot call me that, at least not on the sets. It is very strange".

Hrithik Roshan

Reportedly, Hritik Roshan’s grandmother gave him a pet name - ‘Duggu’ as the family wanted his nickname to be similar to his father’s, 'Guddu'. Apparently when the media learnt about his pet name, they started using it to address the actor. Apparently, Hrithik, depsite being embarrassed by the same, didn't bother suggesting that the media refers to him by his real name. In an attempt to change the perception, Hrithik claimed that his fans prefer calling him as HRO.

Back in her childhood days, Anushka Sharma was nick-named ‘Nushkeshwar’. Growing up the pet name has been shortened to ‘Nushkie’, or a nickname what we hear Virat Kohli lovingly calls her by.
