Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal have recently begun filming for 'Love & War', directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. They were spotted shooting a retro-themed scene in Film City, Mumbai, while co-star Ranbir Kapoor was attending the IFFI festival in Goa. The film, which also features a possible cameo from Shah Rukh Khan, is set for release during Eid 2026.
As per a report in Mid Day, Alia and Vicky will continue filming the scene this week. The set has been designed to resemble an ’80s disco, creating a nostalgic and fantastical atmosphere as about 30 soldiers enjoy dancing to retro songs like "Laila Main Laila." In contrast, Alia and Vicky’s characters engage in an intense conversation, sharing their inner turmoil.
After completing her brief filming schedule for 'Love & War', Alia will head back to the sets of 'Alpha'. The report further indicates that she has been rehearsing intensively to fully embody her character in 'Love & War'. Moreover, the next schedule of 'Alpha' is set to begin in early December.
Ranbir expressed his excitement about reuniting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for 'Love & War' during the IFFI Goa 2024. He referred to Bhansali as his "godfather," stating, “Everything I know about films, everything I know about acting, I learned from him." Ranbir noted that Bhansali remains dedicated and unchanged since their last collaboration on 'Saawariya'.
'Love & War', directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was announced earlier this year and is set to be released on March 20, 2026. Initially slated for a Christmas 2025 release, the date was postponed to accommodate major holidays.
