Alia Bhatt admits wanting to quit social media at times: ‘My photo album is full of Raha'
Alia Bhatt has spoken candidly about how motherhood has reshaped her life, mindset and sense of privacy. In a recent interview, the actor reflected on the emotional shift she experienced after welcoming her daughter Raha with husband Ranbir Kapoor in 2022.
“It’s such a massive change. It happens over the course of nine months. You feel your body, and your mindset, transforming. But when you see the child that you’ve made come to life, the scale of that change is so profound that it’s almost impossible to go back to who you were before,” Alia told Esquire India, describing the deep impact of becoming a mother.
“There are days when I wake up and think, okay, I just want to delete my social media and be an actor who acts. I don’t want to keep up with this conversation again and again. I know that would really cut off contact with so many people who’ve supported me from the beginning, and I don’t want to do that,” she shared.
“When it comes to really putting out your personal life—now my personal life is so personal that I find it a little bit difficult,” she said, highlighting her need for stronger boundaries.
Adding a candid and relatable detail, Alia smiled as she revealed, “My photo album is full of Raha. I actually have to work hard to take pictures of myself.”
As an actor, Alia will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. She also has Yash Raj Films’ Alpha lined up, featuring Sharvari and Bobby Deol, continuing her streak as one of the industry’s most sought-after stars.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”
‘There are days when I wake up and think...’: Alia on social media fatigue
During the same conversation, Alia admitted that maintaining a constant presence on social media can feel overwhelming. While she values the connection with fans who have supported her journey, there are moments when she feels like stepping away entirely.“There are days when I wake up and think, okay, I just want to delete my social media and be an actor who acts. I don’t want to keep up with this conversation again and again. I know that would really cut off contact with so many people who’ve supported me from the beginning, and I don’t want to do that,” she shared.
Why sharing personal moments feels harder now
Alia also explained that her approach to sharing her personal life has changed significantly since becoming a mother. She admitted that opening up publicly no longer comes as easily as it once did.“When it comes to really putting out your personal life—now my personal life is so personal that I find it a little bit difficult,” she said, highlighting her need for stronger boundaries.
