The song Khainch Le Qashh from the

film

'Tadka', which stars Taapsee Pannu and Ali Fazal, was recently released online. Ali took to social media soon after. However, unlike most times when actors tweet asking their supporters to show their film some love, this time around Ali revealed a strange fact. He wrote, “There’s a court case on the producers of this film as far as I remember. Cheques had bounced. Actors and crew still haven't gotten paid. Surprised to see a promotional song coming out from the film (sic).”

The film has been delayed for a long time. In an interview, Ali revealed that an entire crew, including his own staff, hasn’t been paid. When the cast was called to shoot the last bit of the film, they told the producers that they would do so only after their dues were cleared. However, the makers requested the cast and crew to continue shooting and promised that their dues will be cleared soon. Ali took out time, especially to shoot for the movie. He received a cheque a day later, but it bounced. Since then, he has received messages from producer Jatish Varma, promising that he will be paid soon. The

actor

, who is friends with Taapsee, spoke for her and said that neither of them would be interested in promoting the film.

Producer Jatish Varma said that the film’s release date is yet to be finalised. He also mentioned that the last payment, which is made after the promotions, is the only amount that remains. The rest has been cleared. What happens next, remains to be seen.
