Alaya F on nose job speculations: I found it funny
After a recent runway appearance triggered a flurry of speculation around her nose—with several users questioning if she had undergone a rhinoplasty—Alaya F was quick to call it out on social media, dismissing the claims untrue. She said, "I have not done anything”. Recently, when Alaya walked at Bombay Times Fashion Week, she addressed the chatter and the larger conversation around authenticity online.
“I found it funny… it did not bother me or affect me”
Reacting to the conjecture around her appearance, she says, “Honestly, it’s fine. You know, I don’t think I read into it too much. I found it funny. That’s why I even said anything. It did not bother me or affect me or anything of that sort. That’s not also the type of person I am.”
“Everyone is entitled to say whatever they want… and I’m entitled to laugh it off”
She adds that she sees such discussions as part of the social media ecosystem. “I think everyone is entitled to say whatever they want. That’s the power of social media, and that’s the power of living in a country and in a space where you’re able to say what you feel. And I think everyone should be entitled to saying whatever they want. And I’m entitled to laugh it off also, and that’s it," she states.
“My rule is either you say the truth or you don’t say anything at all”
On being perceived as authentic online, Alaya insists it’s simply who she is. “I don’t know how to be any other way. My rule is either you say the truth or you don’t say anything at all. You’ll never catch me saying something untrue. So, if I have nothing to say about it or if I don’t want to speak about it… I just won’t say anything. But most of the time, you know, I think life is too short to be taken so seriously. It’s a fun profession. It’s a fun industry. Social media is fun. I enjoy all of it. I just take it all with a grain of salt.”
