Mrs
Nitin Manmohan has not left her husband for a minute as he battles for his life after the massive heart attack he suffered last evening. "We are at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Vashi. Pray for Nitin ji. He is a fighter. Inshallah, he will be alright," Nitin Manmohan's best friend Kaleem Khan (Sanjay Dutt's former secretary) informed, when ETimes contacted him a few minutes ago.
Yesterday,
Akshaye Khanna (who has delivered a fantastic performance in the recently released 'Drishyam 2') rushed to see Nitin Manmohan as soon as he got to know from some of his friends in the industry.
Confirming this, Kaleem said, "Akshaye and Nitin ji shared a great bond. Akshaye is family to NItin ji." Akshaye and Nitin Manmohan have worked together in many films, 'Gali Gali Chor Hai', 'Deewangee' and 'Sab Kushal Mangal' to name a few.
So why are they in Vashi, we asked? Kaleem replied, "Nitin ji had gone to Panvel to take Ayurvedic treatment of detox, which he has often done in the past. The heart attack happened in Panvel. He was feeling breathless and his wife rushed him to the hospital just in time. He was unconscious as he was being wheeled in and it was felt that he's gone; Mrs Nitin Manmohan told the hospital authorities, 'Revive him anyhow'. The situation was critical then; he has been under observation since then. He hasn't opened his eyes yet. The next 48 hours are crucial, doctors say. Nitin ji's daughter Prachi was also there and has stayed put with her father since yesterday. His son Soham stays in Dubai and he flew into Mumbai last night."
Talking from the hospital, Kaleem who has also been by Nitin Manmohan's side, added, "Nitin ji had quit smoking recently. He was having withdrawal symptoms, which involved a little difficulty in breathing. While he felt the breathlessness yesterday, which had come with more intensity than otherwise would go away, his wife was very alert to rush him for medical aid."
Kaleem and Nitin Manmohan have worked together in many films- 'Maha Sangram', 'Eena Meena Deeka', 'Chal Mere Bhai' and others.
We at ETimes pray for Nitin Manmohan's recovery.
