Akshay lends a helping hand

Akshay Kumar���s undoubtedly a superstar today, but the actor has never forgotten his struggle to make it to the top.
And the star ��� who���s currently basking in the praise heaped on him by Bond beauty Denise Richards whom he romances in his forthcoming film ��� still harbours a soft corner for the strugglers and newcomers trying to make it big in the industry.
Admitting that he does get emotional everytime he passes the gates of a studio and sees the strugglers outside, Akshay says, ���I can���t thank God enough and always say a silent prayer for them. It���s like a reality check for me, seeing them reminds me of my initial days.��� But prayer is not the only thing the actor does for them.
According to an insider, the actor goes out of his way to help newcomers by referring them to filmmakers. Ask Akshay about this and he chooses to play it down. ���That���s the least I can do,��� he adds modestly. Guess, it���s this down-to-earth nature that���s won Akshay fans not only here, but also in Hollywood. Way to go Akki!
