Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ stalled over payment issues?, Big stars yet to be paid - Reports

Akshay Kumar’s ambitious comedy caper 'Welcome To The Jungle', the third installment in the popular Welcome franchise, has reportedly hit a major roadblock.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the film’s production has been on hold since August 2023 due to significant financial issues. According to the reports, the film’s shoot has barely progressed since its initial schedules in late 2023.

Big Names, Big Delays, No Payments Yet

Reportedly several shooting schedules have been cancelled over the last nine to ten months, leaving both actors and crew uncertain about the film’s fate.

Many members of the cast, including top Bollywood stars, have not received their dues. The delays and unpaid wages have already prompted some actors to quietly exit the project, though others continue to extend support out of loyalty to the Welcome franchise.

According to the reports, there are also issues of non-payment of dues to the actors and their staff. Reportedly, some originally cast actors have left the film, and the remaining are still lending their support for the love of the franchise.

The remaining cast are reportedly willing to adjust their dates to finish 'Welcome To The Jungle'.

Akshay Kumar Holds 80% Stake in the Film

Interestingly, it’s reported that Akshay Kumar holds an 80% stake in the film, while the remaining 20% is owned by producer Firoz Nadiadwala and others.

However, Nadiadwala has yet to make a public statement addressing the financial challenges or the halted production.

‘Welcome To The Jungle’ features Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, and many more.

Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film was initially scheduled for a grand Christmas release on December 20, 2024.
