Akshay Kumar's producer denies reports suggesting his next film is titled 'Startup' - Exclusive

Earlier in the day, reports from trade sources suggested that the Hindi remake of

'Soorarai Pottru'

starring Akshay Kumar will be titled

'Startup'

reached out to the producer of the film Vikram Malhotra who denied the development and replied back to our messages saying, "No title confirmed yet." While Malhotra didn't categorically deny the title, certain sources from the film industry have told ETimes that the film's title will be different and that the makers are still figuring out an apt title.



The film will be helmed by Sudha Kongara who also directed the original flick. Radhika Madan will star alongside Akshay in the movie. The first poster of the film has been released by the makers on social media. The film is backed by Suriya, Jyotika and Vikram Malhotra. The story of the orignal movie featured a small-town man who dreams of starting his own airline. This ex-airforce pilot, fights the odds to realise his dream and in the process ends up experiencing a business adventure of a lifetime.


The original Tamil movie featured Suriya, Aparna Balamurali and Paresh Rawal. The film was released on an OTT platform in November 2020. Akshay will next feature in Aanand L Rai's 'Raksha Bandhan' and he also has 'Ram Setu' and 'Selfiee' with Emraan Hashmi in the offing.
