Akshay Kumar's role in 'Padman' and 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha'

Akshay Kumar's 'Padman' is inspired by the life of Arunachalam Muruganatham who was the inventor of a low-cost sanitary pad the manufacturing machine. The film aimed to remove the stigma around periods. How Laxmi aka Akshay goes against the villagers to make a sanitary pad machine for his wife (Radhika Apte) who suffers during menstruation cycles. He also did a social campaign in rural areas to create awareness amongst women to not to shy away from buying pads from medical stores. Jassie Gill's supporting act in 'Panga'

Kangana Ranaut and Jassie Gill's latest outing 'Panga' is an inspiring story for every other ordinary couple. Kangana essays the role of Jaya who is happy with her family life and job at the railways. However, after a while, her heart sets on regaining her lost glory of being a successful kabbadi player. That's when Jassie plays a vital role in a supporting husband Prashant Srivastava in the film. He delivers a consistent and winning performance who supports his wife in every way possible.

4/6

Amitabh Bachchan's fierce act in 'Pink'

'Pink' was indeed a hard-hitting tale starring Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulkarni and Andrea Tariang in the lead roles. A courtroom story where justice was being undermined by bribes and manipulations. However, Big B as lawyer Deepak Sehgal fiercely stood against the existing feudal mentality of judging men and women by a different standard. He fought for the girls caught in a legal battle against notorious boys belonging to powerful families. The film depicted a strong message to the patriarchal system that it took an influential man's voice to make society realise the ugly truth.

Darshan Kumaar's role in 'Mary Kom'

Priyanka Chopra and Darshan Kumaar starrer 'Mary Kom' is a true story of the Indian boxer who won India great accolades globally. PC in the titular role performs the groundbreaking act in the film. She aptly portrays the hardships that Kom had gone through her career. How a mother of two makes an amazing comeback with the help of her husband and continues her success journey against all odds. Darshan Kumaar who essays the role of Onler Kom encourages Mary to restart her boxing training and focus on her career. He takes care of the household chores and also looks after their twins.

6/6

Shah Rukh Khan's strong performance in 'Chak De India'

Do you all remember the climax scene of the film where all the girls were rejoicing after winning the Hockey world cup, it was all because of their coach Kabir Khan aka Shah Rukh Khan who firmly stood behind them. Although he had his reasons to train the women's team, that never became a purpose of his training. He essayed a man who thought women are equally tough and strong as men. They are not only meant to do household duties or follow their husband's commands.
