Akshay Kumar gave his first signing amount to mom Aruna Bhatia, woke her up at 5am for THIS: 'Galey lag ke bohot roya'
It's Akshay Kumar's birthday today, September 9. The actor has come a long way. He has often recalled his time as a chef and as a waiter. Post that, he started modelling. Today, he's one of the biggest superstars of the country. He's also been the highest taxpayer at many instances. As the actor turns 58 today, here's a look back at the time when his mother recalled how he gave her his first pay cheque.
Akshay and his mother appeared together in an old interview. During this chat with NDTV, his mother Aruna Bhatia had said, "Aaya toh signing amount aake isney mere haath mei diya. Toh kehta hai, 'Mumma ye aap rakho.' Toh maine woh signing amonth Mata Rani k charno mei rakh de diya tha aur yaha tak ke hum itna khush huey ki poocho nahi. (He came to me with his first signing amount and kept it in my hand. I kept it in the feet of Goddess Durga and we were so happy)."
She had also spoken about the time he cried so much when he saw his first photo on screen. "Jab iski pehli baar photo aai screen mei, toh mereko toh maloom nahi tha, lekin morning mei, kareeb 5-5:30 bjey mai so rahi thi aur ye mere paas aaya. Ye aake mujhe kehta hai, 'Mumma utho'. Maine dekha toh ye ro raha tha. Maine kaha roney waali konsi baat hai, toh aur zor se roney laga. Toh mai bada ghabra gayi. Kyuki subha 5 bjey roney ka time bachon ka toh hisaab se toh nahi ho sakta hai. Maine kaha kya hua? Toh kehta hai ki, 'Maa aee dekh meri photo aayi hai.' Toh photo dikha k galey lag ke bohot der roya. (When his photo first appeared on the screen, I didn’t know about it. But early in the morning, around 5, 5:30, I was asleep when he came to me. He woke me up and said, 'Mumma wake up.' I saw he was crying. I asked him why he was crying, and he started sobbing even harder. I got really worried, because children usually don’t cry like that at 5 in the morning. I asked, what happened? He said, 'Maa look my photo has come." Then he showed me the photo, hugged me, and cried in my arms for a long time)."
Akshay is often seen getting emotional when it comes to his mother, who passed away in 2021. On work front, the actor will be seen next in 'Jolly LLB 3'.
