Akshay Kumar fans draw comparison between Tom Cruise's stunt in 'Mission: Impossible 8' and 'Khiladi 420'

Akshay Kumar has sparked a lively debate among fans, with many believing his daring airplane stunt in 'Khiladi 420' (2000) resembles Tom Cruise’s jaw-dropping move in the 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' trailer. The Hollywood blockbuster, set to release in 2025, features Cruise hanging off a plane mid-air in a nail-biting sequence. Fans couldn’t help but draw comparisons to Akshay’s similar high-risk stunt performed over two decades ago.

One Redditor shared the clip, saying, “Akshay did it before it was cool, and definitely before Cruise!” While others joked that Akshay might have been Tom Cruise’s “inspiration.” Some even called for the return of the 'Khiladi' series, suggesting it’s time Akshay brings back his action-packed legacy. One fan humorously commented, “Maybe Cruise is the reason we need another 'Khiladi' movie. Enough of Selfie and Bachchan Pandey already!”

Even Akshay himself once pointed out the stark difference in resources. Akshay earlier told ANI, “The amount spent on the stunt is our budget for 2-3 films. And not just the shoot expense, but also the amount spent on the practice for the scene. It’s not like we cannot do it. We can do it if we want to.”
