Akshay Kumar and Vicky Kaushal ‘fighting’ over ‘Operation Sindoor’ film? Twinkle Khanna reveals the TRUTH

Twinkle Khanna has always been known for her smart wit and playful sense of humour. But even the sharpest minds can get caught in the chaos of online gossip. In her latest column for the Times of India, Twinkle opened up about how she ended up arguing with her husband, Akshay Kumar, over something that turned out to be completely made up.

It all began when the internet exploded with chatter about a film called ‘Operation Sindoor’. The drama around this movie caught fire quickly, and Twinkle found herself caught in the middle.

A few days ago, producer Uttam Maheshwari announced a film titled ‘Operation Sindoor’, but as soon as the announcement was made, it received heavy backlash from the public. In response, Maheshwari took down the announcement and issued an apology. Still, the rumours didn’t stop. Social media users began claiming that Akshay Kumar and Vicky Kaushal were in a fight over who would get to make a movie on the same topic. And that’s where Twinkle got involved, not in the film, but in the confusion.

The argument that started it all

Twinkle, like many others, stumbled upon the rumour while scrolling through tweets. Not one to stay quiet, she picked up the phone and called Akshay to confront him about what she had read.

In her column, she described what happened next, “I can test paneer with an iodine solution — but what is the litmus test for the truth? I come across a flurry of tweets and I call the man of the house and start arguing. ‘I just read that you are fighting with Vicky Kaushal over who gets to make a movie on Operation Sindoor.’ He sighs and says, ‘It’s fake news and my leg is on fire, so I will call you later.’ He really should devise better excuses if he just wants to hang up.”

At first, Twinkle thought Akshay was joking or just trying to avoid the conversation. But what she discovered later made her laugh even more.


His leg was actually on fire

When Akshay finally returned home, Twinkle realised he hadn’t been making excuses. He had suffered a minor injury on set while shooting a fire scene. Yes, his leg was literally on fire, not from the fake fight with Vicky, but from an actual stunt.

Twinkle went on to say, “Apparently, his leg was truly on fire for a scene. Nowadays, it is so difficult to figure out what is true that I look at every piece of information suspiciously.”

Despite the buzz about ‘Operation Sindoor’, there is no truth to the rumour that Akshay is fighting with Vicky Kaushal over the film. In fact, both actors are busy with their own confirmed projects.1

Akshay was last seen in ‘Kesari Chapter 2’, and he’s also wrapped up shooting for Priyadarshan’s spooky comedy ‘Bhoot Bangla’, where he stars alongside Wamiqa Gabbi. Apart from that, fans are waiting for the release of ‘Housefull 5’, which is set to hit cinemas on 6 June 2025. Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal is focusing on a completely different film. He is currently working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love & War’, where he stars with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
