Debutant Shubh is all set to showcase his talent in Aasma!
Hold on... theres a new bird in the Bollywood sky Shubh, a Bollywood aspirant who makes his acting debut with Aasma. Having come as an orphan in this industry My parents are in no way connected to Bollywood; I came without references; people didnt even want to meet me Shubhs first flight has been a learning experience...
He began the Shahid Kapoor way. I was in Shiamak Davars dance troupe. So yes, Ive taught for a couple of years, have also been a part of the Commonwealth Games performance and have danced with Hrithik and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan in Dhoom 2, informs the newbie, who not only runs a theatre group in Delhi but also has to his credit a short film, Brown Sugar which he directed at the tender age of 14. Shubh defines himself neither as an actor, nor a dancer. I aim to be an entertainer be it acting, directing, scriptwriting... In fact Ive written the story, screenplay and dialogues of Aasma myself. I wasnt supposed to act in it... I wanted to prepare myself, but my producer and director insisted that I could pull it off, he tells us.
While his debut film will hit the screens on January 23 next year, the boy has already been signed for four other movies, Nakshatra, The First Kiss, Whats Your Age and an untitled English film. So, whos his inspiration in Bollywood? Right now, Im maha impressed with Farhan Akhtar, says Shubh, He hasnt limited himself; and has just gone with the flow. Though the 23-year old draws his inspiration from Akhtar, its Shah Rukh Khans priceless tips that hell never forget. I got the opportunity to meet Mr. Khan, my role model. He told me that though I was pursuing a career in films, I should focus on education, too; If theres no one to give me a break, then theres no one stopping me from achieving what I want to either. And lastly, he suggested that I always work on my own terms and conditions. Having faced a lot of difficulties and negativity throughout the filmmaking process, Shubh has only emerged stronger. He says, People were always trying to bring my confidence down. But then there therell always be those kinds whod like to watch you fail... All that you have to do is have faith in yourself and stand by what you believe.
