Soon after she shared another story. This time it was a picture of herself. On it, she wrote, “Sending some peace to your way,” with a hand-heart emoji.

Despite fear and social pressure in her hometown Aligarh, she chose herself. She later said that decision changed her life. “It made me stronger,” she said.
