Quick Gun Murugun director Shashanka Ghosh to adapt Alice In Wonderland
While hes planning two spectacular epicsbased on real-life characters, Quick Gun Murugun director Shashanka Ghosh is notletting himself forget his affinity for fantasy and escapism.Ghoshis going straight into a pure fantasy film based on Alice In Wonderland. Saysthe excited director, Its not based on Alice In Wonderland. Its a straight adaptation. But it is going to be a completely Indianisedversion of Alice In Wonderland named Alisha. My Alisha will be will be a verycontemporary take on the fable. Samit Basu, who has written the fantasytrilogy called the Simoqin Prophecies, will write the script for theadaptation.Shashanka wants his Alisha to be, Someone sexy. But she has to pull off a childsbewilderment.Shashanka has already zeroed in on Katrina Kaif,Soha Ali Khan and Sonam Kapoor, not necessarily in that order to playAlice/Alisha.Says Shashank, Though its going to be astart-to-finish film, it is going to have tremendous special-effects. I want itto be a desi Alice In Wonderland. But I want it to be technically comparablewith international fantasies like Harry Potter and The Lord Of TheRings.
Oh by the way, Ghosh will include a schoolteachers character based on the author. Shell be based onthe Alice In Wonderland writer, Lewis Carroll. The effort willrequire tremendous imagination to pull it off in style. The delightful book hadAlice falling through a rabbit hole. She meets quirky characters and curiousthings begin to happen to her. Were sure Shashanka is feeling pleasedjust like the Cheshire Cat.
