Shahid Kapoor won hearts with his portrayal of estranged twins, Guddu and Charlie, in Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Kaminey’. And now a decade later the filmmaker is planning a sequel to the film. According a news portal, Vishal Bharadwaj has a script idea for the sequel and has registered the title ‘Maha Kaminey’ with the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association. Shahid Kapoor may reportedly reprise in the iconic roles wherein one character lisps and the other stammers.
Shahid is currently busy with ‘Jersey’ for which he is attending cricket sessions. Speaking about the film Shahid had told IANS, “It took me some time to decide what to do next after 'Kabir Singh'. But the minute I saw 'Jersey', I knew I wanted it to be my next. It is a wonderful inspiring and personal human journey that I connected with deeply.” While Shahid has already started work on ‘Jersey’, if he gives a nod to ‘Kaminey’ sequel, it will only being after this sports drama.
'Jersey' will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanauri who helmed the original Telugu drama as well. Produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill and Dil Raju, the film is scheduled to hit the screens in August 2020.
