Like 'Sex In The City' in the West, 'Parched' could very well be India's answer to onscreen female bonding, with its share of laughter, tears, irony, hope and conversations about desire. Starring Tannishtha Chatterjee,
Radhika Apte,
Surveen Chawla and
Adil Hussain, the film has wowed audiences in 20 international film festivals, winning over 18 prestigious awards. After releasing in countries like France, Belgium, Netherlands, USA, Mexico, Spain and Colombia, this
Leena Yadav directorial, which has been produced by
Ajay Devgn, releases in India on September 23.
Ajay says, 'Parched' is a film every man needs to watch. I am proud to be a part of this movie. Kudos to Leena, Aseem Bajaj and our entire team.' An excited Leena adds, 'It's amazing to see how easily people could connect with the soul of the film. While it talks of four rural women, their desires and happiness are universal and people have connected it to their own lives, be it in France or the US or even Poland. And not just women, we've had men from all walks of life tell us how they could relate to it.'
After watching the film, actress-producer Kajol tweeted, 'Parched', a film about women, friendships and simply being brave enough to find a happier ending. Being happy could just be a guilt-free choice.'
