Advait Kottary makes his international debut in Gurinder Chadha’s period drama

Film, television and theatre actor Advait Kottary is going places. The actor will make his international debut with UK filmmaker Gurinder Chadha's 'Beecham
House', which premieres on Sunday, June 23 in the U.K. Advait has previously played the lead in the extravagant musical 'Jaan-e-Jigar' in

Dubai

, as well as acted in 'Four More Shots Please', 'Date Gone Wrong' and the upcoming Akshay Kumar starrer 'Mission Mangal'.

Speaking on his part in the series, Advait said, “I play the character of Prince Sohrab, the

crown prince

of Alanur caught in the power struggle between the English, the French and the other Indian rulers in a bid to control India in 1795. It was a very tense and unpredictable time in India’s history. Shooting in such grand locations in Jaipur and Delhi also made it so realistic that it actually felt like we were all reliving the past.”

On working with Gurinder Chadha, Advait says, “It was truly an unreal experience. Every actor should be blessed with a chance like that. Gurinder Ma’am runs such a tight ship on set, and yet gives total space for everyone to do their job with complete freedom.”

Advait continues to actively perform plays in India, but he believes in experimenting with various media as well. “Theatre has always been my first love, but along with my on screen work,and I also wish to start a show that starts a conversation about men’s issues.”
