Actors bounce off each other's energies, says Kareena Kapoor Khan

The actress reveals how she has constantly tried to prove herself... Read More
Kareena will complete 25 years in the movie business next year. Her filmography boasts of an eclectic mix of commercial potboilers, memorable characters and no-nonsense courageous leads. Even in her earlier roles where she seemed a bit extra, only she could have pulled it off with her cheeky charming demeanour and presence. From Refugee (2000) to Crew and Buckingham Murders this year, Bebo has had quite a journey.

"I have constantly tried to prove myself as an actor for the past 25 years. And I don’t want people to say that you have done it all, now what? I have a long way to go', she said.

Bebo shared an interesting anecdote. She remembered, “When Omkara was about to release, I thought I gave such a good performance that I kept a special screening and invited directors like Mani Ratnam and of course Vishal Bhardwaj for it. I kept a trial in Film City, Saif was also there. After the movie ended, everyone said you were fabulous but where's saif! I thought I called everyone so that they could praise me, but everyone flocked to Saif (laughs). Likewise, during Jab We Met, I was also shooting Tashan simultaneously. It was this big film with Akshay Kumar, Saif, YRF, whereas Jab We Met was being made by Imtiaz, who had just made one film before that. I was working on my body for Tashan, since it was this big action film. My focus was always Tashan but Jab We Met released, and people loved that film way more than Tashan. So, things can’t be planned. Magic just happens. Actors bounce off each other's energies, whether it was Saif in Omkara, Aamir in 3 idiots or Shahid in Jab We Met. I want to thank all my co-stars. Without them, these films would not be what they became.”
