‘Absolutely blown away’: Randeep Hooda lauds Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’, condemns witch-hunt
Randeep Hooda has come forward in support of ‘Dhurandhar’, joining several others from the film fraternity who have praised the movie. Sharing his thoughts on the Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna starrer, Hooda said the film left him “completely amazed.” He also spoke out against what he described as the undue criticism and targeted reaction the blockbuster has faced.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Randeep voiced his appreciation for Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ while condemning the negative narratives surrounding it. The actor encouraged audiences to watch the film with an open mind and judge it based on its cinematic quality alone.
Sharing the poster, Randeep wrote, “Absolutely blown away by Dhurandhar. Huge congratulations to @jiostudios @AdityaDharFilms the direction is sharp, the writing powerful, the BGM electric, and the vision unmistakable. Stellar work by Akshaye Khanna, @RanveerOfficial, @ActorMadhavan, @rampalarjun, @duttsanjay, @bolbedibol and the entire cast, each one bringing intensity and depth that stays with you long after”.
He continued, “Watching its journey reminds me of what we faced during Swatantrya Veer Savarkar , the same scrutiny, the same hurdles, the same witch-hunt. Savarkar and I walked through our storms too. I’m glad to see Aditya emerge stronger and victorious. Well deserved.”
‘Dhurandhar’, directed by Aditya Dhar, revolves around Hamza, an Indian intelligence agent who penetrates deep into Pakistan to infiltrate the notorious gang led by Rehman Dakait. Inspired by true events such as the 2001 Parliament attack and the 26/11 Mumbai terror assaults, the film offers a gripping portrayal of the long-standing tensions between India and Pakistan.
The film combines elements of spying, crime and intelligence drama, featuring stellar performances by Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and R. Madhavan. The movie, directed by Aditya Dhar, has witnessed phenomenal box office success, raking in over ₹180 crore in India, as reported by Sacnilk.com. Its sequel is already in the works and is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19 next year.
