'I will not tolerate any rubbish about my family': Abhishek Bachchan stopped smoking, drinking when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan got pregnant; reacts to reports of DIVORCE
Abhishek Bachchan has been in the industry for 25 years and while he has come a long way and has proved himself time and again as an actor, he's also been a private person. Being born to superstar parents, Abhishek has always known how the industry works and that also includes knowing how to deal with rumours and the things that come along with being a public figure. Abhishek has been married to Aishwarya since 2007 and they have a daughter Aaradhya who was born in 2011.
The actor has finally broken silence on all the speculations regarding his divorce with wife Aishwarya. When asked about all the reports, Abhishek said in an interview with Peeping Moon, "First they were curious when will we get married, now they're discussing how we will get divorced. My wife knows my truth, I know her truth. We go back to a happy, healthy family and that's all that matters."
Abhishek also adds that being from the industry and being married to someone belonging to the industry, helps in dealing with rumours. He said, "That's one of the benefits of growing up in the film industry and having a wife who is from the film industry. In all humility, and respect, the media tends to get it wrong most times. Media is the conscience of the nation. In today's fast pace, we have to be the one to break the news first, I understand the pressure, but what do you stand for?"
He added, "At the end of the day, you're also talking about a human being. Someone's father, husband, there has to be a certain amount of responsibility. If you're going to talk about my family, you're going to have to deal with it because that's off limits. It may be a strong word and I don't mean it arrogantly, I will not tolerate any rubbish about my family. That's a full stop."
During the interview, the journalist stated that when Aishwarya got pregnant, Abhishek sent all the cigars and single malt to him. Abhishek smiled and said, "I've stopped all of it. I don't touch it."
Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, the actor had reacted to all these rumours and misinformation about him, when there were several speculations about his married life. He had said, "The person who is putting out the misinformation and the lies is not interested in clarity or in correction. Previously, things that were said about me, didn't affect me. Today, I have a family and it's very upsetting. Even if I clarify something, people will turn it around. Because negative news sells. You're not me. You don't live my life. You're not answerable to the people that I'm answerable to. People who put out such negativity, have to live with their conscience. They need to deal with their conscience and answer to their maker. See, it's not just me. I don't get affected. I know what the rigmarole of this place is. There are families involved. I'll give you a very good example of this whole new fad of trolling."
