Abhinav Kashyap meets cousin in Lucknow

Abhinav Kashyap’s Lucknow visit, though entirely for a professional reason, also had him sharing some private moments with his family. The filmmaker met up with his cousing Kshitij while in the city recently.
“I am meeting my cousin after five years. We are constantly in touch and it was only a few days back when Arijit called and asked when I was planning to come to Lucknow, and here I am,” said Abhinav, adding, “He was insisting we lunch together, but maine bola lunch ka toh pata nahi bus mil lunga tujhse.Even though we are meeting after a long time, nothing has changed between us.”
When asked about his real brother Anurag Kashyap, Abhinav says, “Hum log ek hi shehr mein rehte hain, humare ghar 3.5 kilometre door hain, par hum six months mein ek baar milte hai, do baar baat ho jati hai phone pe. Par jab milte hain tab waise hi milte hai jaise bachpan mein milte thay. He has started keeping shows of Hollywood movies at his place, so whenever he does that and calls me, I go.” He elaborates on why they rarely get to meet each other, “Anurag runs two companies, I have a company of my own. We are both over 40 and we both have our own lives. We are in the same profession but dukaan thode hi na hai ki hum dono ek hi galle pe baithte hain. Also, Anurag travels a lot. He goes to so many different festivals, toh techincally, woh India mein six months hi rehta hai saal mein. Aur uss six months mein usey apni first wife se milna hota hai, apni beti se milna hota hai, fir apni second wife se apne jhagde solve karne hote hain.
