Abhay Deol posts nostalgic throwback on Dharmendra’s 90th birth anniversary: 'He called me to him'

Today marks the 90th birthday of Bollywood’s He-Man, Dharmendra, the 'Sholay' fame left the entire industry mourning after his passing on November 24, 2025. Marking the special day, his nephew Abhay Deol shared a fond memory of his uncle. Abhay posted a throwback photo on Instagram, showing a young Abhay and Dharmendra gazing into the distance.

Sharing the photo, he penned the caption, "Must’ve been 1985 or ‘86. I had just been scolded so I was upset. He called me to him, sat me down by his side and said, “look at the light”, and had the photographer click this pic."




"I look forward to the moment I hear him say those words to me again, when my time comes. Today was his birthday," the actor's caption reads.

Esha Deol's birthday

To honour her father's birthday, Esha Deol shared a heartfelt post, promising to carry forward Dharmendra’s legacy with “pride and respect.”

Remembering her bond with her late father, who passed away on November 24, she wrote on Instagram, "To my darling Papa...Our pact, the strongest bond . “ us “ through all our lifetimes, all the realms and beyond ….. We are always together papa . Be it heaven or earth . We are one (sic)."

Dharmendr's health condition

Dharmendra was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after reportedly experiencing breathlessness. He received the required treatment and was discharged on November 12, after which he continued his recovery at home.
