Aarya Babbar is busy man. The actor, who has several film projects lined up -- with noted actors like Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah and Gulshan Grover -- has a packed schedule for the rest of the year. Which means that his other passion, theatre, will have to be put on hold -- but not just yet. "My theatre commitments have taken a back seat, but I am going to Bangalore on May 21 to perform Gorky + Tinku Ke Karnamey, a play I have written and directed," says Aarya.
Aarya will also be acting in the play, "but it's not like I have the main role.

I'm not a conceited ass!" he laughs, adding, "There are a lot of important characters in the play and I am one of them." Aarya says that Gorky... is a "madcap comedy" about a pair of conjoined twins who are the world's worst detectives. "They think they're very intelligent, but they're actually pretty dumb," he explains, adding, "One of them falls in love with a girl who has been attacked by a ghost. To solve the mystery, he has to go to a haunted house and the brother has no choice but to go along with him."
Aarya is planning on taking the play to Bangalore and Delhi. "I want to take it abroad as well, but my film committments won't allow me to do that just yet," he says.
