With nary a godfather to nudge her in the right direction, Aarti Chabria made it on her own-- first as a model at the tender age of 3 and then as a svelte woman promoting some of the top brands, who went on to clinch the Ms India Worldwide title before deviating into films.
1x1 polls

Today she's reckoned as a haute property in Bollywood, with her film Shootout At Lokhandwala being a big hit and her guest appearances in Heyy Babyy and Partner being noticed by those who matter. But there's more to this girl than meets the eye.
Ask her whether she has lost the artistic innocence, having started her career with Lajja and being known for her sensuous portrayals today, and Aarti says with complete nonchalance, "I might have the image of a glamorous actress, but my comic portrayal in Awara Paagal Deewana was liked a lot. Serious roles will happen later. Even actresses like Tabu and Raveena got to do those roles, when they matured as actresses."
Does that mean, she's now going to stick to the comic genre? Ask her this and pat comes the reply, "In my forthcoming film Dhoom Dhadaka, I am playing the role of a struggling actress called Shivani Sawant who's very loud and crass. It has various interesting shades." So is that a takeoff on our very own Rakhi Sawant? "We are not taking any names. Rakhi is a dear friend and a lovely girl and I am not supposed to talk much about the film."

Interestingly, the young lady is making waves down south these days. Ask her to talk about her rendezvous with southern films and Aarti happily narrates, "My first film in Telugu was nominated for Nandi Awards and I won the best actress award for Okariki Okaru. But I do very few films there and that too between my Bollywood projects."
She's one of the few actresses whose name has not been linked with her co-stars. But try testing the waters now that she's appearing with Shahid Kapur in Milenge Milenge, who is single after his break up with Kareena, and Aarti actually lights up: "Oh, there are a lot of girls who had been waiting for this day!" Does that mean she is ready to give Shahid the green signal? The pretty woman laughs and adds, "Shahid is definitely a guy you would like to take home to your mom. He's really sweet but there's nothing more to it than that."
Her item number in Shootout At Lokhandwala had grabbed eyeballs. Does she plan to enthrall the viewers some more in future? "I am doing a couple of hot numbers in Dhoom Dhadaka. I think people are gonna like these," she reveals naughtily.
Ask her about her recent comment on JLo, where she allegedly said that it would be a pleasure for the Latino singer to work with her and Aarti fumes, "I was misquoted. In fact I had said it would be a pleasure to share the stage with her if she comes to India."
The gal, who believes in chilling out at her gym and cycles away to glory in the wee hours of the morning, has kept love on hold for a while. As she puts it, "I have been deeply in love in the past but this time I would rather wait for Mr Right to come along. And I am sure it will be for keeps now!"
