‘Katti Batti’ was a light-hearted romantic comedy drama, but when Aamir Khan saw it, he called it a real tear-jerker. In 2015, he was seen breaking down after a private screening of the movie. Speaking about it in a conversation with Hindustan Times, Aamir shared, “It's an extremely emotional and moving story about the beliefs one has in love and the extent to which one goes for those beliefs. It reminded me of moments from my own life.”

He added, “I am an obsessive kind of emotional. I am a sucker for Mills & Boon stories. The film reminded me of moments that I have been through that were highly romantic, intense, and obsessive.”

His boy offered him a brown towel, which the actor carried on his shoulder while leaving the theatre. He told Hindustan Times, "When I started watching the film, I didn't have a towel or anything.
