Sunny Deol has several films lined up for release this year, and one of them is 'Lahore 1947'. Directed by
Rajkumar Santoshi, the film has been backed by Aamir Khan. Recently, several reports suggested that the movie title is being changed to 'Batwara 1947' to avoid any controversies. However, as per the latest report, Aamir Khan has rubbished all the speculation.
Aamir Khan denies change in title of 'Lahore 1947'
According to the Bollywood Hungama report, Aamir Khan has stated that there has been no change in the title of the movie. As per the report, when asked about it, the producer said, "Where did you hear that? No, the title of our film has not changed. As of now, it is 'Lahore 1947', and that’s how I would like it to be."
More about 'Lahore 1947'
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the movie stars Sunny Deol in the lead role. It also features Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, and Abhimanyu Singh.
The film is set to mark the comeback of Preity Zinta after eight long years. Her last stint on screen was 'Bhaiaji Superhit', which also starred Sunny Deol.
Meanwhile, 'Lahore 1947' is set to hit theaters on August 13, 2026, during the Independence Day weekend. If reports are to be believed, it would clash with Salman Khan's 'Battle of Galwan'. The film is about the clash between the Indian and the Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in 2020. However, since the superstar and Deol and Aamir share a good rapport with each other, fans are wondering if they will lock horns at the box office, with both bringing patriotic films to the screens.
On the other hand, Kartik Aaryan's 'Naagzilla' has also been postponed.
For those unaware, Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi have worked together in movies like 'Ghayal', 'Damini', and 'Ghatak'. All of them were hits at the box office, and hence, the expectations from the upcoming movie are quite high.
