Aamir impresses as the new Oprah?

Satyamev Jayate, Aamir’s debut tv show has managed to make an impact on the aam janta.
Aamir Khan’s much awaited tv show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ finally made it big debut on Sunday May 6th 2012. The talk show which aims at raising awareness about social issues was tagged ‘hard-hitting’ and managed to strike a chord with audiences and common people in particular.Aamir Khan even called for an impromptu press conference post the show’s airing expressing happiness over its success.
" Sirf hungama khada karna mera maksad nahi Meri.. koshish hain ki yeh surat badalni chahiye.. Mere seeney mien nahi toh tere seeney mien sahi.. Ho kahin bhi aag, lekin jalni chahiye..” says Aamir and the man stands by it. “I want to change myself too through this show. Its not just about changing the society” says Aamir.
From set design to addressing issues that bother our Indian society the most, Aamir Khan’s show can be clearly compared to the iconic Oprah Winfrey who continues to influence people across the globe.
We loved the way Satyamev Jayate began..the introduction. Aamir Khan speaking his heart out as he looked deep into the sea and then within to find the answer of why we the people have stopped caring for anything but ourselves.. the title track that followed was heartrending. Genuine discussion, crucial topics, full marks to aamir for resurrecting an Oprah on Indian television. The editing of the show could have been better though.
