Aamir Khan visited his idol, Shammi Kapoor yesterday. Since Shammi cannot move out, he will officially launch the music of Taarein Zameen Par at his residence.

However, the actor in a hush-hush plan visited his mentor and favourite actor Shammi Kapoor, at his Napean Sea Road apartment, along with an audio CD of Taare Zameen Par this afternoon.
If sources are to be believed, Khan wants Kapoor to do the official unveiling of the audio album, which has already hit music stores earlier this month. Accompanying the actor were his wife Kiran Rao, music directors Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy and lyricist Prasoon Joshi. A source close to Khan reveals, "Aamir always wanted to present the first copy of the music CD to Shammiji and seek his blessings." Not too many people are aware of Khan’s longstanding association with the septuagenarian superstar. Khan was introduced to Kapoor by his late uncle Nasir Hussain, who had directed Kapoor in a few of his productions including Tumsa Nahin Dekha and Teesri Manzil. Reportedly, Khan idolised Kapoor during his struggling days and it’s only recently that he wanted him to do the music launch. However, Kapoor has been extremely unwell and has asked Khan to see him at his residence instead. Another source informs, "If there’s someone who Aamir respects immensely and holds close to his heart after his uncle Nasir, it has to be Shammi Kapoor. Shammiji has been unwell for the last few months but he has made an exception for Aamir. Actually, he is very fond of Aamir and treats him like a son." Aamir Khan was not available for comment.
