Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in the lead roles. And now, she is all set to make her
Kannada
debut with ‘Pailwan’ as a lead actress. The film, which is titled ‘
Pehlwaan
’ for the Hindi version, stars
Kiccha Sudeepa
and
Suniel Shetty and has been made in different languages.
Aakanksha was previously seen in the popular TV show ‘Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha’ a few years ago where she played a young widow. With the film just days away from release, the pretty actress is busy on a promotional spree and in a recent interview revealed that she couldn’t believe it when she was told she had been signed on for the film starring well-known names like Kiccha Sudeepa and Suniel Shetty. She also said she was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the punctuality of film crews in the South.
Talking about ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, Aakanksha said that when she was offered the film, she requested director
Shashank Khaitan to give her a narration. It was only after weighing the pros and cons of doing her character that she decided to sign the film.
