Success speaks like nothing else. And after “The Dirty Picture”, Rajesh Sharma has been pleasantly surprised by the recognition that Bollywood is giving him. Having wrapped up the shoot of “Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana”, he is now busy shooting for Neeraj Pandey’s “Special Chabbis” in Mumbai. Says Rajesh, “The film is inspired by the tale of a robbery that happened in the ’80s, where a man posed as an income tax official and turned up with his 25 aides to raid a famous jewellery outlet in Mumbai.
They walked away with a fortune but it was only later that people found out that the man who posed as the IT official was a fraud. Till date, he hasn’t been caught by the cops.”
While it’s known that
Akshay Kumar is playing the lead, the cast also includes Manoj Bajpayee,
Anupam Kher, Kishore Kadam and Divya Dutta. “Akshay, Anupam Kher, Kishore Kadam and I form a gang that dupes people. We stay in different parts of Mumbai and are big frauds. While Jimmy and Manoj are playing cops, Kajal Aggarwal is playing Akshay’s girlfriend. On the sets, there’s a lot of bonding between Akshay, Anupamji and me. Whenever we are together, we speak in Punjabi. I had worked with Anupamji in “Khoshla Ka Ghoshla” and he fondly remembers those days,” Rajesh says.
Rajesh, of course, is happy with his experience of working with Neeraj. “He is very fast and knows cinema. He doesn’t take any extra shots and gives a lot of space to the actors. I love his style of making a movie,” he adds.
Meanwhile, there are offers galore from Kolkata too. Says Rajesh, “I have worked in
Indranil Ghosh’s film and have also done a venture that’s directed by actor-turned-filmmaker Falguni. I will be returning to Kolkata on April 20 and then, begin my work in other Bengali films.”
