To maintain the feel of the film, Shree Narayan Singh shot it in a small town in Garhwal (Uttarakhand). Apart from Shahid and Shraddha, the movie also stars Divyendu Sharma and Yami Gautam. Shahid, who was last seen in an intense role in 'Padmaavat', will be back on screen with the light-hearted drama.
Shree Narayan Singh says, “Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a subject close to my heart. I know the problems the interiors of our country face because of electricity fluctuations.
Bhushan Kumar adds, “This film has a unique subject, which has not been attempted before in Hindi cinema. As a producer, it has been a creative high to bring Shree Narayan Singh’s socially relevant directorial vision to the big screen.”
