begins today, India is all set to make its presence felt as the first ever official Country of Honour at the Cannes

, CBFC member, actor and producer.” The official brief of the session states, “India has an abundance of competent labour, cultural and linguistic diversity, and ever-growing consumption expenditure. The country’s ever-increasing digital demography, immense talent in technology, cultural diversity, discourses with a multitude of local stories, and stature as the world’s highest film producer have put India at a position of global advantage in terms of content production. The rise of on-demand, subscription-based video content, and OTT platforms has brought stories from India’s hinterland to the globe.”

It also states that over the years, Indian filmmakers’ participation in international film festivals and markets has enabled Indian content to get acceptance among global audiences. The Festival’s Marché Du Film will also feature world premieres of a selection of Indian films, which will be held at the Olympia Cinema. India will also be spotlighted in various other programs, including Goes to Cannes,

Cannes

XR and Animation Day, as per the official press release issued by the festival. In the Goes to Cannes session, NFDC’s Film Bazaar will present its WIP selection of five feature films. The world premiere of

’s directorial debut Le Musk will be organised at Cannes XR.
