Abhimanyu Dassani
, who bagged the Best Debut (Male) Filmfare award for his stellar performance in the action-drama ‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’.
Making things even more special, the organizers called upon his mom,
Bhagyashree to the stage to present the award to her son. Speaking about his big win, Abhimanyu said in an exclusive chat with ETimes, “It is every actors dream of Indian film industry to hold the black lady and say your mine. I can't be more grateful to Filmfare. I would like to thank whole cast and crew of ‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota'’.’
Expressing his shock and joy about the win, he added, “Firstly you are nervous sitting in the audience hoping to get and award and prepping up your speech in mind. The shocker was my first Filmfare and they called my mom on stage to present the award. My mom will remember it more so because she gave it to me.”
The actor, who was contending against the like of Meezaan Jaffrey for ‘Malaal’,

Gully Boy
’, Vardhan Puri for ‘Yeh Saali Aashiqui’, Vishal Jethwa for ‘Mardaani 2’ and Zaheer Iqbal for ‘Notebook’, also acknowledged his fellow nominees and wished them the best for the future. He concluded, “My (co-contender) Siddharth Chaturvedi is a fantastic actor. He deserves it as much as I do and so does Vishal Jethwa. Hopefully, in the future, I would like to work with them.”
‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’ was directed by Vasan Bala and co-starred
Radhika Madan in a leading role along with Gulshan Devaiah.
