Celebrating five years of her biopic film ‘Neerja’s release
Sonam Kapoor took to her Instagram handle to share her post from five years ago. The biographical thriller which released on February 19, 2016 tells the story of India’s braveheart flight attendant

In the first picture, you can see Sonam posing with her ‘Neerja’ co-stars who had played flight attendants. She captioned it, “Love you guys... Couldn’t have done it without you… The boys are missing but I’ll love y’all as well… ‘#Neerja’”.
The second picture is a collage of some rare pictures of
Neerja
Bhanot. The caption in the picture read, “You need to know her story. 01 Day, Neerja”. Sonam Kapoor captioned the post as, “Find out the story of a daughter, a hero for the entire nation tomorrow!”
Directed by Ram Madhvani and written by Saiwyn Quadras and Sanyuktha Chawla, the film also stars
Shabana Azmi, Yogendra Tiku and Shekhar Ravjiani in pivotal roles. Inspired by a real-life event, the thriller follows the life of an air hostess who sacrificed her life to save hundreds of passengers on board the hijacked plane Pan Am 73.
Meanwhile, Sonam Kapoor recently wrapped the shoot of her next ‘Blind’. The action-thriller, being directed by Shome Makhija, revolves around a blind police officer in search of a serial killer. The 35-year-old actor began shooting for the film in December last year in Glasgow, Scotland. The film's cast also includes seasoned actors like
Vinay Pathak, Purab Kohli and
Lilette Dubey
